Winter work!
Spanish Printing Ministry All Because of Christ Missions Print Shop Since 1993 we have spent our winters in Mission, Texas. One of my activities has been to volunteer in the ABC Print Shop. “Winter Texans” help Bro. Seth Duffey, a former missionary to Mexico, print, collate, fold and stitch gospel tracts in Spanish. These are given without any charge to pastors and churches across the border. The Lord has blessed this ministry. Almost all the equipment (3 presses, 3 cutters, 2 folders and a lot of related equipment) have been donated or purchased by Christians who love the Lord. In 2004 we borrowed a collator to assemble 50,000 nine page booklets. It was loaned to us by El Niños Del Rey (The Kings Kids Ministry) of nearby Donna, Texas. It was such a time saver that some of the workers wanted to buy it for ABC, Inc. But it was not for sale. So we prayed, “Lord, we really need a collator like this!”. Seven months later, Marengo Printery in Northern Illinois gave us the big 3M 1190 Platemaker...and as an afterthought said, “Oh yes, here’s some other equipment you can have”. Yep! It was an almost exact replica of the 10 bay collator we had prayed for...only a later model. It has been put to good use as of this writing collating 30,000 eight page booklets. |
