Mushy. Mushy and Wishbone were the last two horses used to deliver milk. (Champaign). We gave them a home in Quincy and used them in parades. They drew restored milk wagons decked with flags.
Rex. Rex was another horse we used for publicity purposes.
Prairie Princess. This filly and saddle was won by 10 yr. old Larry Gabbert of Camden, IL in 1954. (This is the pony that threw me in Mt. Sterling)
Grooming Lady.
Oh No...here comes another cowboy!.
Yee-HAW. Actually it's a posed picture taken in Tulsa, OK, a few years ago. Got talked into sitting on stuffed bull and waving my arm like a REAL cowpoke. It was a blast and I am happy he didn't kick me (he had steel in his hoof! :-)
Rex. For you horsemen and ladies, Rex is "parked"a bit better in this old slide. Joe McNeilly took this shot about 1968.
I loved riding!. After falling off Prairie Princess in Mt. Sterling, I attended "horsemanship" sessions with Roy Tweedt in Mt Sterling. Then I truly enjoyed riding!
