Brother Seth and Pat Duffey were missionaries in Mexico for years. They saw the need for sound literature printed in Spanish. They returned to the US and started a small print shop on property Pat inherited from an uncle. As many as 25 "Winter Texan" volunteers will print, fold, collate, staple, cut and pack this Spanish material. It is all FREE to Mexican pastors and churches. If you would like more information contact Pat at gmof17@aol.com. It's a great work and I was proud to have a small part as a volunteer for several years. Following are a few of the photos we took.
Jim Lakin "shooting" copy. We are grateful for Bro. Jim Lakins help in the Print Shop. As former President of a large printing operation in Kansas City, MO, Jim has many contacts who have supplied us with paper, ink and equipment. All of us appreciate his positive attitude!
Each work day we start with prayer!. Here (l ro r) is Ram, Marion, Cornie, Seth and Estus
Press Room. Bro. Seth is shown a problem by Eric Benson while Ram, looks on. Ram is great at cutting and trimming. He has had commercial printing experience which helps.
Many jobs in preparing literature.. Here Lois, my wife, staples small booklets. Behind her is the process camera which juts out of the darkroom. ABC Print Shop has 3 presses, 3 cutters, 2 folders, 2 joggers, 2 collators and a lot of accessories...most all donated to the glory of the Lord .
Another press rooom photo. Each tract is printed with, or stuffed with a free coupon for a Bible Study course from Escuela Bereana. ABC Print Shop is supplying materials for a ministry serving Mexico City where there are 7 Million people who need to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Cornie Hudson . Cornie and Vernie Hudson are from Mississippi and it's a pleasure to hear them. They do the drawl so well! Cornie is an expert on presses and a real help to all of us. That's Ram in the background. He's our expert cutter/trimmer. He has trimmed up millions of booklets!
Jan Scheaffer sorts tracts.. All tracts have a coupon printed or stuffed. This is for a free Bible Study from Escuela Bereana done by mail. Winter Texans stuff these tracts in their spare time. Seth leads the worship service each Sunday from November through March. He or Max Tinsman bring the tracts to be stuffed to the service...and take those that have been stuffed back to the shop. These are sorted by Jan and her helpers, then sent across the border to Mexico.
In The Stockroom. (L to R) visitors from Illinois, Mary and Max Tinsman,Bro. Ramerio Gonzales, and Pat and Seth Duffey. By November these shelves are cleared off...and by March they are jammed with printed tracts.
Working in the Front Room. Here's the back of Estus Porter's head...with him are Jan and Len Scheaffer and Sherri Benson..all hard at work counting and packing tracts for shipment across the border.
