It's May, 2006 and we are in Lynchburg, VA for graduation exercises. Your old friend has gotten a "GOG" diploma from Liberty University.
(It stands for "Grumpy Old Geezer" I think!
Not really..(I'm kidding)..but we did finish Dean Harold Willmington's Home Bible Institute Studies and are here to attend the graduation exercises.
This early photo is for the benefit of my grandchildren. More will follow.
Almost 5,000 people were crammed into Thomas Road Baptist Church for the 2006 Baccalaureate Service tonight. On the platform with those who received Honorary Doctorates were Senator John McCain. Dr. Jerry Falwell introduced the speaker Dr. Gary Bauer, conservative christian who worked for Ronald Reagan, ran for President and has a nationwide influence as a speaker and author. He is President of the American Values and Chairman of the Campaign for Working Families. He presented an excellent speech. Lois and I did not stay for the photo ops as my knee is really hurting and there were so many, many people who were crowding into the gym.
Steven J. Dorobiala, Evangelist. This Viet Nam Veteran is now winning souls. He sat next to me at the graduation ceremony and was a real help and brother!
Sandy, my daughter, took this one on our way to the ceremony.. It was overwhelming...the crowds and the activity!
