In 1949 at Rice Lake, WI we discovered that there was practically a famine on the Cour De Rey Indian Reservation at Hayward due to a corrupt official. Our station, WJMC AM and FM
held an impromptu food drive and filled a studio up with canned goods which were delivered in a couple of days. This is Harry Wills on the right, our Program Director.

    Optimist Members. Carl Richards, has the big smile front and center. Optimist President Don Balzer is on the right and I can't remember the name of the member on the left or the fellow in the rear. If you recognize them, please let me know. I enjoyed the membership I had in the Quincy Optimist Club...and became President at one point. The "meet and eat" group was billed as "Friend Of The Boy". We sponsored jamborees at the Boy Scout Camp and awarded trophies for academic achievement, mostly.
